Employees have been made redundant after Kettering-based haulage company Knights of Old’s parent company KNP Logistics Group entered administration in September 2023.
Rajnesh Mittal and Philip Armstrong of FRP Advisory Trading Limited were appointed as joint administrators of the main trading entities in the group on Monday (September 25), blaming a cyber attack in June this year for the financial woes.
A ransomware attack is a form of malicious cyber activity in which unauthorized software encrypts a victim's files or data, rendering them inaccessible. Typically, the attackers demand a ransom payment, often in cryptocurrency, in exchange for providing the decryption key or software that can restore the data to its original state. These attacks can severely disrupt businesses, organisations, and individuals, leading to financial losses, data breaches, and potentially long-term consequences for the affected parties.
